Absence Procedures
When students fail to report to school, the school is required by law to make a reasonable effort to notify the parent or guardian. We need your assistance in this matter.
Through the following procedures, we will be able to provide greater safety for your children:
If you know in advance that a student will be absent, please send a note to the teacher indicating the date and reason.
If time does not permit you to send a note in advance, please telephone the school at 648-3680 to notify us.
During school hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), notify the school secretary; please give your name, the student's name, the teacher's name, and the reason for the absence.
After school hours (4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.), notify the school by leaving a message on the telephone answering machine; please give your name, the student's name, the teacher's name, and the date and reason for the absence.
In the event that a student is absent and you have not notified us, we will telephone you at home or at work to notify you of the absence.
Excessive absences may greatly affect a student's instructional progress and could be a factor in a student's retention in the same grade during the next school year.
